Dining at L’Auberge Provencale is comprised of two distinct but cohesive offerings with multi-course prix fixe menus offered to 50 fine dining seats at La Table, while an a la carte menu is available at the more casual and contemporary 24-seat Le Bar bistro. An inviting seasonal garden terrace offers an additional 16 seats. “Farm to Table” has been the philosophy at L’Auberge Provençale from its inception. The menus feature a constantly evolving selection of seasonal items sourced from a select group of esteemed farms, ranches and producers, local purveyors showcasing the bounty of the Shenandoah Valley, and the magnificent on-site garden.

The wine list includes over 1,000 selections and is a Wine Spectator Best of Excellence award winner, and the bar drives excellent business with innovative craft cocktails and local beers. This Virginia restaurant for sale drives an incredibly strong repeat business from hyper-locals in the 20 mile radius along with tremendous lodging and event business from the greater Metro D.C. Area.

L’Auberge Provencale sits on four manicured acres of orchards and seasonal gardens surrounded by protected farmland. The original Inn Manor was built in 1753 on land surveyed by George Washington for Lord Fairfax. It was purchased by the current owners, opening their doors in 1981 as L’Auberge Provençale. The property has been meticulously maintained over the last 40 plus years while expanding to include additional guest rooms, dining areas and amenities.

The façade of the original Manor maintains an historic Virginia character, while the French Country inspired additions create a “Taste of Provence” in the Virginia countryside. The first floor of the Main Manor features the two dining rooms, the contemporary bar & bistro, a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, gift-shop, guest living room and the inn’s hallmark front porch. The stone-walled basement houses the inn’s wine cellar with a Wine Spectator Award Winning list.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped with an orchard of producing fruit trees, the restaurant’s seasonal garden, ornamental gardens, and inviting sitting areas for guest use.

In addition to the Main Manor building, the property also offers a separate 2-story office building off the back kitchen and a sizable workshop and garage. The inn laundry center connects The Manor House to La Petit Auberge.

The second floor of The Manor House features three of the luxurious guest rooms. La Petit Auberge is a charming 2-story addition to the Main Manor that contains two guest rooms and two guest suites. Attached to La Petit Auberge are three additional ground-floor guest rooms along with a secluded and spacious guest suite. Each of these four units feature private outside entrances from the beautiful seasonal ornamental garden.

The spacious guest rooms and suites are painted in rich colors and furnished with either king or queen beds, luxury linens, Provençale fabrics, antiques and objets d’arts. Room features vary and include amenities such as individual cooling and heat, private entrances, fireplaces and sitting areas. Bathrooms are uniquely constructed using hand-painted tiles with some premium guest suites also offering steam showers and one with a jetted tub.

L’Auberge Provencale currently operates three additional guest rooms along with the guest pool at Villa la Campagnette, which is the owner’s private residence three miles from The Inn. This property is not being offered as part of the sale.

With over eight acres of lawn, gardens and orchards surrounded by rolling fields, L’Auberge is a perfect setting for intimate Provence-inspired country weddings. The current owners have focused their efforts on efficiently run receptions and intimate ceremonies up to 65 guests. The wedding business at L’Auberge Provencale acts as an excellent generator for both lodging sales and restaurant revenue.

The restaurant is a strong draw for fine dining focused wedding couples looking for an elevated foodie experience for their rehearsal dinner or ceremony. With on-site lodging for up to 22 guests and excellent nearby overflow lodging opportunities, there is room to expand the wedding venue to host larger weddings on property.

With the proximity to the Washington D.C. Metro area, there is an excellent nearby market to expand into high-end corporate dinners and executive retreats. Currently the property is geared towards all-inclusive intimate meetings and events of up to only 20 individuals.

In The Heart of Northern Virginia

While L’Auberge Provençale is a getaway destination unto itself with award winning dining and luxurious accommodations, the property is also ideally located in The Shenandoah Valley and the heart of Northern Virginia Wine Country. L’Auberge is only 1 ½ hours from Washington, DC, 2 hours from Baltimore, MD and only 45 minutes from Dulles International Airport.

The Shenandoah Valley attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. The area offers state and county parks with hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking and an abundance of other outdoor activities amidst unrivaled scenic beauty.

Northern Virginia Wine Country has also experienced tremendous growth as a viticultural epicenter and is now one of the top wine regions of the country. The area is a haven for wine enthusiasts and also features a burgeoning craft brewing and distillery scene.

The property is also perfectly situated to attract overnight and dining guests visiting the numerous historic sites and museums, the charming town of Middleburg, and the renowned Virginia Horse and Hunt Country.

Metro Washington D.C. has experienced tremendous growth and The Inn and Restaurant’s location make it ideal for attracting overnight travelers along with repeat guests from the immediate area’s growing population. At the same time, Clarke County’s Agricultural-Open Space-Conservation zoning protects the area’s pastoral setting.

The close proximity to Washington D.C., Arlington, Alexandria and the entire metro area creates exceptional four-season demand for the inn, restaurant and event venue.
