Historic North Carolina Mountain Cabins

The property was originally developed as a seasonal health spa retreat in 1888. The exteriors of the remaining cabins and the grounds are maintained in appearance as originally built. The property has included other cabins over time, but currently includes 16 units along with the leased Farmhouse rental down the road. Healing Springs Road runs through the center of the property with buildings located on either side. The Main Lodge houses the front desk with a guest check-in area along with a small general store area where guests can purchase assorted sundries, locally raised meats, and locally crafted soap and artworks. The centerpiece of the property, the world-famous Healing Springs, discovered in 1883, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and available free to the public. The property offers numerous parking areas for up to 30 cars (adequate space for all overnight guests) along with 4 fully functional RV hookups.

The property consists of 16 guest units housed within nine separate structures. The 14 cabin units and 2 camping cabins offer an array of different lodging options from pet friendly to family units to intimate studios for couples, and rustic treehouse cabins for the adventure seeking traveler.

All of the 16 units at The Cabins at Healing Springs offer private entrances, heating and air conditioning along with a range of amenities including gas fireplaces, flat screen TV’s, kitchenettes, full kitchens, refrigerators, coffee makers, private porches and more. The 14 cabins have all been renovated down to the studs for four-season use and are in good condition. The current owners have updated the interiors with modern conveniences including high speed Wi-Fi.

The location of Cabins at Healing Springs in. Ashe County, NC offers guests a number of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The property is only one mile from the New River, one of the top area attractions, popular for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and other recreational activities. The Mount Jefferson State Natural Area is within 20 minutes and features stunning views and excellent hiking opportunities. Grayson Highlands State Park is only 18 miles away. This park is a tremendous draw, connected to Mt. Rogers National Recreation area and the Lewis Wilderness area, offering guests excellent hiking, waterfalls, stunning views and the renowned wild ponies. The charming town of West Jefferson is within 12 miles offering guests local dining, shopping, craft artisans and seasonal events.
