On the first floor of Chelsea House Victorian Inn is a grand entrance hall, two large guest living rooms, the dining room, a guest powder room, laundry room, pantry area, the kitchen and an office. The second floor of the inn includes two guest rooms and one guest suite with a functioning fireplace. A fourth guest suite occupies the third floor. A spacious deck, the covered front porch and a garden gazebo provide seasonal outdoor guest seating. A large bedroom and bath addition, not currently used as a guest room, connects the inn to the Carriage House, built in 2002. The first floor of the Carriage House is a three-bay garage. The second floor, accessed by a separate entrance, is a large guest suite/apartment that includes a full kitchen, washer/dryer and Jaccuzi Brand tub. All guest rooms have private bathrooms and are furnished with queen size beds.
The lower level of Chelsea House was converted to living quarters for the owners in 2010, and includes a kitchen with a breakfast bar, living room, bedroom, sitting room and full bathroom. The lower level is partially above grade with full windows that open and are on all 4 sides of the house, allowing the lower level to flood with light throughout the day. This comfortable, private domain is accessible from the kitchen and by a separate entrance.
The restoration of three-story Chelsea House is a testament to civic pride. The original façade and architectural details were expertly restored, heightening the inn’s sense of place. Importantly, underneath the historic surface all the major systems were replaced. Maintenance is thoroughly up to date and the Chelsea House is in excellent condition.
